Grand Slam of Darts: Whitlock Relishing Tough Challenge

Australia’s Whitlock has struggled to mark an impact in televised tournaments over the last month.

He has been drawn in a demanding group F for the round robin stage of the Grand Slam alongside fellow Premier League star Peter Wright, Northern Ireland’s Brendan Dolan and Michael Smith, who knocked Phil Taylor out of the World Championships last Christmas.

Only the top two qualify for the knockout stages, but Whitlock is confident he can progress in Wolverhampton. Continue reading

Bet Victor World Matchplay: Wonderful Whitlock Defeats Wade to Reach Last Four

Simon Whitlock sealed his spot in the semi-finals of the Bet Victor World Matchplay with an excellent victory against James Wade in Blackpool.

Whitlock avenged his dramatic defeat at the hands of Wade at the same stage last year with a strong display, which included twelve 180s.

And the fourth seed, who averaged over 96 in the win, set his sets on winning the title after his last eight success. Continue reading
