McCoy’s Premier League Darts: Whitlock Survives Judgement Night

Simon Whitlock avoided elimination from the McCoy’s Premier League despite losing out to Michael van Gerwen on ‘Judgement Night’ in Brighton.

‘The Wizard’ went on stage to face the world number two after other results has ensured he would survive the dreaded drop on Thursday evening.

But the Australian was unable to celebrate his safety with a win as van Gerwen posted an impressive 103 average to claim victory.

Wes Newton and Gary Anderson were the two players to suffer the fate of relegation.

Simon Whitlock has vowed to come out all guns blazing as he battles for Premier League Darts survival on Judgement Night in Brighton.

The 44-year-old Australian is one of four players in danger of relegation at The Brighton Centre on Thursday evening.

Whitlock and Other Darts Stars to go ‘Topless’ for Sponsors Leyland Paints

Simon Whitlock and four more of the world’s leading darters are preparing to go ‘topless’ for a major tournament after agreeing to swap their trademark shirts for paint!

To celebrate its involvement in the fast-growing sport, Leyland Paints has created a Professional Darts Colour Card taking inspiration from the shirt colours of world number three, four and five players Michael van Gerwen, James Wade and Whitlock, as well as Robert Thornton and Mark Webster.

That has prompted the quintet of oche favourites to agree to take to the stage at the UK Open at Bolton in June without their shirts, and instead cover their entire upper body in Leyland Paint, sprayed in their respective darts shirt colour. Continue reading

McCoy’s Premier League Darts: Whitlock Targets Scottish Upset

A confident Simon Whitlock is targeting a win against home favourite Robert Thornton as the Premier League Darts tournament moves towards the relegation stages at Glasgow’s SECC arena.

Following a 7-4 win against in-form James Wade, Whitlock succumbed to Andy Hamilton in a game that, had he won, would have secured his position in the top half of the table.
