Eight of the biggest names in darts will head to Yorkshire next week aiming to win one of the leading tournaments on the UK exhibition circuit.
World Champion and world number one Michael van Gerwen will be the star attraction at the Leyland Paints Darts Dazzler, which takes place at the Batley Frontier on Wednesday December 3 at 7.30pm.
van Gerwen will be joined in the field by local favourite Dennis Priestley, Adrian Lewis, Stephen Bunting and Mark Webster – who all have world titles to their name.
Completing the all-star line-up are Simon Whitlock, Andy Hamilton and Wayne Mardle.
It’s a big night for Leyland Paints, which has its head offices very close to the host venue in Batley, and will be sponsoring the Dazzler for the first time.
The leading paint manufacturer already sponsor van Gerwen, Whitlock and Webster in an all-star ‘Team Leyland’.
Vicky Jones, stockist marketing manager for Leyland Paint, said: “We are delighted to be backing such a prestigious event as the Dazzler for the first time.
“The line-up is fantastic and features all three of our darting ambassadors which makes it extra special for Leyland Paints.
“It’s going to be a night to remember and we are looking forward to further cementing our already strong links with the sport.”
van Gerwen said: “I played in the Dazzler last year and it was a great event to be involved in. The fans in Yorkshire made it a great atmosphere.
“Everyone in the field will be giving their best to get the win as the World Championships start just two weeks later and this will be a nice boost.
“It’s extra special for me this year because Leyland Paints will be sponsoring the event and they have provided me with fantastic backing during my first ever year as world champion and as world number one.”
