SIMON WHITLOCK continued his dream start to the Unibet Premier League Darts season as victory over Raymond van Barneveld in Newcastle made it three wins from three for the Australian.
‘The Wizard’ followed up wins against Mensur Suljovic and Rob Cross with a 7-4 triumph over five-time World Champion Raymond Van Barneveld to stay top of the table.
Whitlock is tied on six points with fellow returning star Michael Smith ahead of the pair’s meeting in Berlin next Thursday.
He said: “I’m playing good darts when I have to and it’s great to get another two points. I couldn’t have asked for a better start and I’m really confident.
“The darts are going great and there’s no pressure on me. I was probably the outsider but I know how to play Premier League darts and I’m just taking it one week at a time.”
