Simon Whitlock is confident he can overcome a slow start to the Premier League campaign to mount a challenge for a play-off position.

The Wizard of Oz – who was suffering from an ear infection during the early part of the Premier League season – is still searching for his first points of the season after losing his first three matches.

Simon Whitlock grabbed his second win in as many matches at the Grand Slam of Darts to cement pole position in Group G, as he defeated Mark Webster on Sunday afternoon in Wolverhampton.

Whitlock produced a brilliant performance to triumph 5-1 against the former BDO World Champion, with the Australian ace averaging 108.78 in the victory.

Whitlock Ready to Atone for Grand Slam Disappointment

World number four Simon Whitlock has vowed to right the wrongs of 12 months ago as he prepares to return to Wolverhampton for the Grand Slam of Darts.

Despite winning two of his three group matches in 2012, Australian Whitlock exited the tournament at the round-robin stage after a 5-1 defeat to Dean Winstanley in his final game saw him eliminated on leg difference.
