Premier League Darts: Whitlock Vows To Recover From Early Setback

Simon Whitlock is confident he will bounce back from his opening week defeat as he aims to get off the mark in the Premier League in Bournemouth.

The world number three was beaten 7-1 by Adrian Lewis on the opening night of the season in Liverpool last week.

But Whitlock has already put that behind him and is looking forward to taking on talented Scotsman Gary Anderson.

“Last week was disappointing and I didn’t feel quite right up on stage,” said the Australian, who is now based in Waterlooville.

“Credit to Adrian because he performed very well but that’s gone now and I’m just looking forward.

“It will be a tough game against Gary but I’m ready to go in Bournemouth and excited by what is ahead.

“The aim is to get into the top four at the end of 15 weeks and I’m very confident I can achieve that.”

Like Whitlock, Anderson was beaten on the opening night which makes Thursday’s clash an important one for both players.

“Getting that first win in the Premier League is always a great feeling and hopefully it will come my way on Thursday,” added the Wizard of Oz.

“It’s a big game for Gary and myself and it will be a big boost for whoever gets the win.”
